Our Staff

Nancy has been with the company since 2003. As a partner of the firm, Nancy is involved with all aspects of the business. She has a wide range of experience in tax, accounting and auditing in the government, corporate, non-profit and aviation industries.

She earned her Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Hofstra University, in New York. Nancy is a licensed CPA in Florida and Maryland and is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public accountants.

She is involved in the community and has served as Treasurer of the Manatee Bay Elementary PTA for two years. Annually, since 2007, she has raised funds for the Leukemia Society and completed full and half marathons on their behalf.

Sue Folkringa is a Certified Public Accountant and has been the company's resident "Aviation Taxologist" since 2008. She is a licensed pilot and proud owner-pilot of a Piper Comanche aircraft and flies gliders in her spare time. Sue completed her Masters of Taxation from Florida Atlantic University in 2015, and also holds a MBA - Accounting and Finance and a BBA - Accounting from Grand Valley State University.

Sue is a member of NBAA and serves on their Tax Committee. She also serves on Florida Aviation Business Associations (FABA) Board of Directors, and is a member of AOPA, EAA, AIPCA, FICPA, SFBAA and CalCPA. She is a frequent presenter at NBAA Tax Conferences, AOPA Summits and other industry events. No stranger to public speaking, Sue also co-presents the company's aviation tax webinars which feature topics that address financial and tax issues relative to aircraft owners, operators, financial and legal professionals.

Barry has 28 years of experience in preparing tax returns and as a tax consultant. Prior to joining the company Barry was an independent Tax Consultant assisting clients with 1040, Partnership, and S-Corp returns, as well as state tax returns and FBARs when required.

A qualified Certified Public Accountant, Barry holds a Master's Degree in Accounting from Florida International University. He has attended numerous aviation tax seminars over the last 3 years.

In his free time Barry focuses on fitness and spending time at the gym, and enjoys nice dinners and traveling. He is a big animal lover and has owned 5 Great Danes throughout the years.

Bobbi has been with the company since 2000. As the administrative partner, Bobbi oversees accounting operations for the firm. Some of her many responsibilities include production of financial reports, maintaining accounting records, ensuring accounts payables are paid on time, accounts receivables are collected promptly, processing payroll and overseeing human resources functions, processing bank reconciliations, maintaining chart of accounts and issuing timely and complete financial statements.

She was born and raised in Miami Florida, graduating from Southwest Miami High School, therefore she is a South Florida Native. She was the former Controller at MAXY Aviation Services, a full-service FBO located at FLL. Bobbi is a member of the Association of Accounting Administration and is also serving as a Board of Director's - Treasurer for Honor Flight South Florida. For Bobbi, watching the joy that this organization gives to Veterans is something that no amount of money or gift could ever compare to.

Shayne Gutierrez joined the Aviation CPAs' team in 2012, initially as the company's Marketing Director. She currently serves as General Manager of the company's proprietary aviation tax software, Flight Tax Systems, and is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the software division. This includes overseeing and working directly with sales and programming staff on all aspects of software development, product strategy, joint venture and partnership programs, sales strategy, brand marketing, customer relations, and training and support.

Additionally, Shayne is responsible for all marketing communications aspects of the Aviation CPAs accounting firm, including planning, developing and implementing of all of the company's marketing strategies, marketing communications, and social media and public relations activities.

Previously Shayne spent 9 years with a magazine publishing company holding several positions such as a Regional Associate Publisher, Regional Marketing Representative, and finally as the magazines' National Circulation Manager.

Shayne is involved in the community and over the years has been actively been engaged as a volunteer with Honor Flight South Florida, Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida and Broward County Public Schools.

We welcomed Sonja to our team as our newest member in early 2022.

Sonja has over 20 years of experience working in the accounting industry in the areas of administration and office management. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Business Management degree from the University of Phoenix in Plantation, Florida.

In her role as Administrative Assistant, Sonja provides administrative support to our executive team. She also assists with bookkeeping functions, client relations, tax return preparation and overall office support for our Fort Lauderdale location.

A valued member of the team since January, 2014, Evelin manages administrative activities for the company's Fort Lauderdale facility. Among her many responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of tax returns and communicating regularly with tax clients regarding general details about their account.

She provides administrative support services to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within the office. In addition, Evelin manages all front desk activities, welcomes and greets visitors to the office, receives incoming phone calls and handles caller inquires. She is happy to help you in your dealings with the company and answer your questions.

Lisett has been a member of the staff as a Tax Preparer since 2007. Lisett assists the company in both Individual and Corporate tax returns. Originally from Venezuela, Lisett speaks Spanish fluently and is also a licensed real estate agent. Lisett is currently working on her Masters of Taxation degree at Nova Southeastern University and holds an MBA in Accounting from Sistema Universitario Ana G. Mendez.
